Terms and Conditions — Airline Crew Discount
The short version
By using airlinecrewdiscount.net you agree to these terms. The site is operated by Alomax Amsterdam, a Dutch publisher (KvK 34250618). EU consumers retain their non-excludable rights — including the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

Alomax Amsterdam is the publisher and data controller for airlinecrewdiscount.net. Editorial responsibility rests with Captain AL (see About Captain AL) under the standards published in our editorial policy.
3. Eligibility
To use this site you must be at least 16 years old. If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your country, you may use the site only with the consent of a parent or guardian. Some specific deals, partner offers, and crew benefits described on the site additionally require valid airline staff identification, an ID90/ZED ticketing entitlement, retiree status with a recognised carrier, or proof of employment in the travel industry — eligibility for any such offer is determined by the merchant, airline, or partner, not by Airline Crew Discount.
4. Intellectual property
All editorial content on this site — articles, layover guides, gear reviews, photographs taken by Captain AL, infographics, the “Captain AL” pen name and persona, and the “Airline Crew Discount” name and logo — is the intellectual property of Alomax Amsterdam or its licensors and is protected by Dutch copyright law and applicable international copyright treaties.
You may:
- Read and share links to articles on social media, email, and messaging apps.
- Quote short excerpts (up to about 75 words) for review or commentary, with a clear attribution and a link back to the original article.
- Print or save articles for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not, without our prior written permission:
- Republish, mirror, syndicate, scrape, or systematically copy articles or images from this site.
- Use site content to train a commercial AI model or feed a generative system without explicit authorisation.
- Sell, sub-license, or commercially redistribute any content.
- Remove the byline, attribution, watermarks, or affiliate-link tracking from copied material.
For permission enquiries — including text-and-data-mining or AI-training opt-in requests — email info@airlinecrewdiscount.net. Where we do not respond, no permission has been granted, and the reservation of rights under Article 4(3) of the EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market (2019/790/EU) applies.
5. Reader contributions and user-generated content
Several parts of the site invite reader contributions: the Add a deal form, article comments, the contact form, the live chat, replies to newsletter emails, and any guest article we accept for publication. Anything you submit through these channels is “user-generated content” or UGC.
5.1 Licence you grant to us
By submitting UGC you grant Alomax Amsterdam a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to host, store, display, edit lightly for clarity, translate, distribute, and promote that UGC on airlinecrewdiscount.net and its associated social-media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X), in newsletters, and in derivative editorial works that reference your contribution. You retain ownership of your UGC; this licence is the limited permission we need in order to publish it.
5.2 What you promise about your UGC
By submitting UGC you confirm that:
- The UGC is your original work, or you have the rights and permissions you need to grant us the licence in 5.1.
- The UGC does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
- The UGC is not unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, fraudulent, obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful.
- The UGC does not endanger crew safety or aviation operational security — for example, you must not publish active flight-deck conversations, security procedures, cockpit voice recordings, or anything that would breach an airline’s operational confidentiality.
- The UGC is not a covert advertisement for a product or service in which you have a commercial interest, unless you disclose that interest plainly inside the UGC.
5.3 Our editorial control over UGC
We reserve the right — but are not obliged — to review, edit, refuse, suspend, or remove any UGC for any reason, including violation of these terms, factual inaccuracy, breach of our editorial policy, or operational concerns. UGC does not represent the editorial position of Airline Crew Discount unless we explicitly publish it as such.
6. Acceptable use
When using this site you agree not to:
- Probe, scan, or attempt to compromise the security of the site or its hosting infrastructure.
- Transmit malware, viruses, automated bots (other than well-behaved search engine crawlers), or scraping tools that overload the site.
- Impersonate another person, airline employee, regulator, or organisation.
- Use the site to send unsolicited commercial messages or to harvest personal data.
- Bypass paywalls, subscription gates, affiliate tracking, or content-protection measures.
- Use site content to train a commercial AI model without our written permission (see clause 4).
- Engage in any activity that violates Dutch law, EU law, or the law of your own country.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the site if you breach this clause — see clause 12.
7. Notice-and-action: reporting illegal content
Under the European Union Digital Services Act (Regulation 2022/2065), we operate a notice-and-action mechanism for any reader, rights-holder, or authority that wishes to report content on this site that they consider illegal — for example, copyright infringement, defamation, or content that breaches EU consumer-protection law.
7.1 How to submit a notice
Send an email to info@airlinecrewdiscount.net with the subject prefix [DSA Notice] containing:
- The exact URL of the content.
- A specific explanation of why you consider the content illegal, with reference to the applicable law where possible.
- Your name and contact email — anonymous notices may be considered but receive lower priority.
- A statement of good faith that the information you have provided is accurate.
7.2 How we respond
We acknowledge receipt within 48 hours. We assess the notice on its merits and either remove or restrict the content, take a different action (such as adding context), or notify you of our reasoned decision to leave it in place. The complainant and the affected content provider are both informed of the outcome and have the right to contest the decision.
8. Links to third-party sites
This site contains links to third-party websites — airlines, hotel groups, insurers, retailers, affiliate networks, and other publishers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security, or privacy practices. Following a link to a third-party site is at your own risk and may be subject to that site’s own terms and privacy notices.
9. Related policies
These terms incorporate by reference our:
- Privacy policy — how we collect, use, and protect personal data, including newsletter subscribers, contact-form senders, live-chat users, and analytics visitors.
- Affiliate disclosure — the affiliate networks and direct partners we work with, plus the Amazon Associates required disclosure.
- Editorial policy — sourcing rules, fact-checking process, AI-usage statement, and public corrections process.
- Disclaimer — editorial-accuracy limits, no-warranty terms, no-professional-advice statement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law (Boek 6 Burgerlijk Wetboek) and applicable EU consumer-protection law, Alomax Amsterdam is not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including loss of profit, savings, business opportunity, or data — arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content. The site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Full limitation-of-liability terms are set out in the disclaimer.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law. EU consumers retain all non-excludable rights granted by their national consumer-protection law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alomax Amsterdam, Captain AL, and the editorial team from any claim, demand, loss, or reasonable legal fees made by a third party arising from your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, your UGC, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party. This is a standard indemnity clause and does not affect rights you have under Dutch consumer-protection law.
12. Suspension or termination of access
We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the site (including specific features such as commenting, the live chat, the contact form, the newsletter, or the Add-a-deal form) if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, our editorial policy, or any applicable law. Where the breach is minor or unintentional, we will normally give you the opportunity to put it right first.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as our practices, partners, or applicable law evolve. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Material changes are also noted briefly in the editorial-policy changelog. Your continued use of the site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms; if you do not agree, please stop using the site.
14. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found by a competent court to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be replaced by an enforceable provision that comes closest to the original intent and to applicable Dutch and EU consumer-protection law.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the site will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
EU consumers — your statutory rights
If you are a consumer habitually resident in another European Union country, you also retain the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence, and you benefit from the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of that country’s law. Nothing in this clause limits those rights.
European Union consumers may use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. Our point of contact for ODR matters is info@airlinecrewdiscount.net.
16. Questions about these terms?
For questions, complaints, partnership pitches, or DSA notices, contact us via the contact page, the live chat, or by email at info@airlinecrewdiscount.net. Our corrections process applies to factual errors; the DSA notice-and-action process in clause 7 applies to allegedly illegal content.
